How often do you inject Humira Options

Hi

On a past thread about Humira, it made me stop and think how often do you use it and are you pen or syringe.

I have been on Humira 2 years after 8 months changed to syringe as pen did not suit me, VERY painful and difficult to use with my hand.

After 11 months changed to weekly and have been injecting weekly since

So now.

13 months Humira weekly by syringe. Similar to Metoject.

MTX inject 15mg weekly Metoject.

It's really interesting how different our treatment is from Town to Town and Dr and Consultant whether your Sero-Negative or have the RH Factor.

Hi Tricia

I've just started Humira and I'm on every other week. I use the pen - wasn't offered anything else! But it was fine. I get reviewed after 3 months.

I'm supposed to now be coming off Leflunomide, staying on low dose of sulphasalazine - and gradually reducing down the steroids which are currently at 15 mg. But no one told me what order to do this in! (I'm a failed MTX person! - side effects were so bad, so I stopped them - no one told me there was an injectable version!)

I have a positive RH factor - which sounds like the Humira works better with - from reading through all the discussions.

Hi Tricia,

I am on Humira and mtx.
I started on 2 weekly injections but I was finding that the effects of the humira wore off before the 2 weeks were up so I now inject every 12 days.
I started with the syringes but somehow the prescription got changed to pens and I don't like them at all. I find it very difficult getting the 2 tops off! With the syringe you can control how slowly/fast to give it but the pens just shoot it in!
I'm going to ask to go back to the syringes.
